Road Safety Month 2025 and Half Marathon
The Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch join hands with the Department of Transport, Manipur in observing Road Safety Month 2025 on the theme “ Road Safety-Safety to Life”. The state-level observation was launched on 5th January 2025 at the Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch office premises by the honorable Transport Minister Mr. Khashim Vashum in the presence of Shri Michael Achom, Secretary Transport and Dr. L. Nivedita, Director Transport, Manipur. Volunteers, officials of the State Branch, Manipur police, Traffic Police, and Staff & officials of the Transport Department attended the Opening Function. The Honorable Minister flag-off a van that will disseminate the importance of road safety and rules to the public.
On the Closing Day on 1st February 2025, a 21 Km long Half Marathon was organized. The Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch took part as a partner in organizing the half marathon. Volunteers from both Imphal East & Imphal West were engaged in giving first aid and Ambulance service to the participants along with the volunteers of the State Branch. The Transport Department, Manipur acknowledged the support of the Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch.
