Junior Red Cross, Manipur Team got Overall Team Champion in recently concluded National Youth Exchange Program 2024.
The Junior Red Cross Team of the Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch participated in the recently concluded National Youth Exchange Program 2024 at BBK, DAV College of Women, Amritsar, Punjab from 24th to 29th December, 2024. The team comprises 8 girls, 3 boys, and 4 officials leading the team by Narendra Ningomba, Chairman, Dr. Laishram Manglem Singh, Vice -Chairman, Athokpam Nabachandra, Honorary General Secretary and Elangbam Barun Singh, Life Member. The students are from Ibotonsana Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Tamphasana Girls’ Higher Secondary School and Johnstone Higher Secondary School, Imphal. The team was trained by IRCS, MSB in various fields under the leadership of Shri Narendra Ningomba. Competitions in 6 different disciplines were conducted in the program i.e., Folk Song (solo), Group Song, Group Dance, Recitation, Written Quiz and Poster Making with slogan (painting). The volunteers also attended many workshops and lectures on patriotism and humanitarian services. One Cultural evening was also attended and our team showed a beautiful Pena group song and showed the audience the importance of Pena in our culture.
Our Junior Red Cross volunteers secured 1st Prizes in Group Song, Group Dance, Written Quiz, Poster Making with slogan and a consolation prize in Solo folk song. The Manipur team was declared the Overall Team Champion and honored with the Trophy. During the 6 days program, the volunteers/students were allowed to witness Jalianwala Bagh, Golden Temple, and the beautiful Flag lowering ceremony of Wagha Border by IRCS, Punjab State Branch.
