It is said that “There is no health without mental health” and Mental Health is as important as physical health.
So, in continuation of the Basic Psychological Support programs conducted during June 2023, the Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch organized 6 such programs from 19th – 21st July 2024 at Bishnupur, Imphal West, Thoubal, and Kakching districts. We started the program at Takmu Water Sports Relief Camp, Laisoi on 19th July in the morning, and in the afternoon, we did at Santhong Awang Community Hall Relief Camp. Senior Psychiatrist Dr. Seram Manikanta Singh made the IDPs aware and treated them with medication when required. The State Branch provided free medicines also. Our doctors also treated general patients and provided free medicines to the IDPs. The general patients were examined by doctors deputed by CMO, Bishnupur. Our team examined a total of 89 IDPs.
On 20th July, we had organized at Gulap Higher Secondary School Relief Camp, Mekola, and Konthoujam Makha Khabam High School Relief Camp, Konthoujam. General patients were examined by doctors deputed by Mekola PHC, Khumbong CHC and Dr. Y. Meghachandra Singh & Dr. Y. Mohen Singh of Red Cross. Our team examined a total of 94 IDPs on that day.
On 21st July, we had done the program at Rice Research Centre Relief Camp, Khangabok and Sanatombi High School Relief Camp, Keirak. Senior Psychiatrist Dr. Seram Manikanta Singh made the IDPs aware and treated them with medication when required. The State Branch provided free medicines also. Our doctors also treated general patients and provided free medicines to the IDPs. The general patients were examined by doctors deputed by CMOs and Dr. N. Homendro & Dr. Y. Mohen Singh of the Red Cross. Our team examined a total of 80 IDPs.
